BEFORE & AFTER photos of a living room interior design transformation makeover in Old Brookville, Long Island NY.
Our goal was to update this Northport Long Island home and create a classic, luxurious, elegant and architecturally interesting space. In this entranceway foyer we added panel molding, redesigned the staircase, refinished the wood floors, and painted the walls a soft cream color. This home was completely transformed.
The makeover for this living room in Fort Salonga Long Island started with new paint, trim and molding. The fireplace mantle was custom designed and built. The window treatments, rug, sofa, and chairs were all coordinated to work together. The result: A classic, elegant, contemporary architectural space.
In this living room makeover on Long island we rebuilt the fireplace mantle, added wood wainscotting to the walls, earth-tone colors on the walls above enhance the white wainscotting, window treatments and a set of comfortable sofas make this a very pleasant sitting area for relaxing conversations or reading by the fire.
This room was one large dining room and living room. The dining room table (not shown) was traditional French country. I wanted to continue the flow and create an updated classic and elegant traditional look. We added a new built in mantle and fireplace. The color black added contrast and interest. I continued this an added black molding. I kept the window treatments simple and minimalist.
Den design makeover, before and after
This living room in Westchester NY has soaring ceilings and great architectural details. In keeping with the traditional architectural elements we purchased furniture that was classic and timeless. We upholstered the wing chair in a comfortable, butter-soft leather and kept the fabric for the window treatments simple. This allowed the graceful and beautiful elements of the space to shine.
This was a cold, harsh rectangular space we transformed into a warm, inviting living room. Natural wood, plush wool carpet, organic wall covering and the recessed built-in area makes for a comfortable space to relax and entertain.
The recessed areas in the living room could have been problematic but we used them to our advantage with custom cabinetry and lighting to create a cozy sitting area with good lighting for reading.
