Interior Design Services for Centerport Homes

Designing for the Centerport Community

Centerport, nestled on Long Island’s North Shore within the Town of Huntington, is a picturesque harbor hamlet known for its waterfront charm and “Gold Coast” history. With a 2020 population of 5,822 and recent estimates around 6,200, it’s a community characterized by affluence and a stable, residential feel. The Vanderbilt legacy adds a layer of historical significance to the area, known for its scenic beauty and established properties. Many homes here reflect this heritage, blending traditional styles with the relaxed, “beachy” feeling of harbor life.

Understanding Centerport means appreciating the high value residents place on their homes, reflected in the 95.6% homeownership rate. Interiors By Just Design works with Centerport homeowners to create spaces that honor this investment. The approach centers on developing rooms with lasting appeal, moving beyond fleeting trends to establish classic, enduring styles you’ll appreciate for years. It begins by listening to your needs and understanding your vision, even the parts you find hard to express.

The Benefits of Hiring a Professional Interior Designer

The process is interactive and hands-on. Often, it involves exploring options together, perhaps finding a specific rug or fabric that truly resonates with you. That key item then becomes the foundation around which textures, colors, and furnishings are layered to build a cohesive and inviting room. Access to a wide network of over 400 suppliers and long-standing relationships with tradespeople like cabinet makers helps bring these personalized designs to fruition.

My Design Story in Centerport

Art of Designing for Centerport Estates

I have been working with this Client for 7 years. I have designed every room in this home . We are now currently working on the kitchen and backyard furnishings.

This dining room was old and dated . The mantle was custom fabricated as was the custom shelving. The Client enjoyed playing the piano and while this room is not extremely large we planned to purchase a piano and made sure it fit properly . Often clients purchase pianos and they do not fit the space properly .This is why hiring an Interior Designer is key. Designing a room is not about just picking pretty furnishings it is about planning and implementation.

A modern dining room with light gray upholstered chairs, a dark wooden table, a sideboard with vases, a white lamp, and an oval mirror. A crystal chandelier and patterned curtains are reflected in the mirror.

We prioritize durable and easy-to-clean materials, like performance fabrics, specific types of rugs or flooring, and finishes that withstand wear. Smart space planning also helps create zones for different activities, keeping family life organized and stylish.

Absolutely. We design home offices considering workflow, storage needs, lighting, and technology integration to create a space that is productive, comfortable, and fits within your home’s overall aesthetic.

Transitional, contemporary, and updated traditional styles are popular, blending classic comfort with clean lines. The key is creating a look that feels current yet comfortable and suited to the architecture and the family’s lifestyle.

Timelines vary by scope. Furnishing a single room might take 3-6 months, while larger renovations involving kitchens or baths can take 6-12 months or more, depending on complexity and contractor schedules.

Yes, we frequently collaborate with architects, builders, and subcontractors. We can work with your chosen team or recommend trusted professionals from our network.

We use a layered approach: ambient (overall illumination), task (for specific activities like reading or cooking), and accent (to highlight features). We select fixtures that match the design style and provide appropriate light levels for each space.
